She researches East German cinema and depictions of the Holocaust.
Elizabeth studied German and French as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge, before taking a Masters degree in Screen Media and Cultures also at the University of Cambridge. In 2011, she began a PhD in German at the University of Leeds.
Elizabeth is the co-founder of the FFLI and Languages for the Future projects.
